In celebration of his new record, England Keep My Bones, Frank Turner has booked a headlining tour across North America alongside Andrew Jackson Jihad and Into It. Over. While no official announcement has been made, considering Frank’s tour mates, I’d venture to say that the tour will be solo/acoustic.

Ion Turntables are known for a few reasons; they’re a readily available introductory turntable for beginners, and they come with a fool proof vinyl-to-mp3 systems of any modern day table. The company has just updated their website with their newest innovation (more on that later) with the Vertical Vinyl table. Vertical Vinyl is a revisited vertical turntable, rather than the gravity-obeying horizontal table. The Ion Vertical Vinyl table is a wall-mounted player, which will cost you around $130 USD.
The “innovative” and “new” monikers that come along with the Vertical Vinyl are to be questioned, however, as companies like Technics and Mitsubishi have produced vertical tables in the past. However, the Vertical Vinyl is battery operated and quite a neat little wall piece.

Comadre will release the 5th installment in their ongoing Mixtape project this Wednesday, June 1st 2011. Unlike their previous mixtapes, which have been free so far, this one will have to be purchased to gain access to the unreleased songs from Comadre, Broadway Calls, Daikon, Punch, Ghostlimb, Loma Prieta, Trainwreck, and more. However 100% of the money earned from this release is being donated to the Japan earthquake and tsunami relief efforts. Previous mixes from the band have included exclusive songs from acts such as P.O.S., Dead To Me, and Hour of the Wolf.
Broadway Calls have announced on their Tumblr blog that they will be recording a new EP next month at Atomic Garden Recording Studio that they hope to release in time for The Fest this fall. You can read their statement below.
Hey, I think it’s time to let you guys know that we’ll be recording a new EP next month. In mid June we’re going down to The Atomic Garden studios in East Palo Alto for a few days to record a few songs and get them out to you as fast as possible. While we were in California last month, we recorded a new song for the Comadre Mixtape #5. It turned out great, and Jack’s studio and recording techniques just keep getting better and better. So we decided to go back down there and record an EP. We want something new out for our tour we’re planning around the Fest this fall. While having a new LP would be sweet, it just won’t be able to happen in time if we’re going to make it the way we want to.
We don’t have a whole lot of details yet. Out of the songs we’ve been writing for the last year, we’re still trying to decide which ones to put on the EP and which ones to save for the full length. And, we’re still writing. We’ll continue to write all the way up until we go into the Blasting Room later this year.
Oh and that mixtape comes out in just a few days! It’s a benefit for Japan, and you can hear it by donating and downloading. June 1st!
Here’s a link to the studio. Can’t wait for you to hear these songs. See ya.
Rapper Rye Rye has a new single out featuring guest vocals from Robyn on the hook. The song, “Never Be Mine”, comes from Rye Rye‘s heavily delayed debut album Go! Pop! Bang. After spending way too much time in the sun today this is a nice little burst of pop to chill out to. We’ll be back to songs with screaming and stuff soon.
Oslo, Norway’s Death Is Not Glamorous have premiered a new song from their upcoming LP Spring Forward, out on June 15th. You can stream “Invincible Summer” below.
We’re counting the seconds until someone here in the states get’s Living With Lions levels of pissed about NRP hosting a stream of Fucked Up‘s new album David Comes To Life, but for now you can stream the recordright here. Our own Patrick McEachnie had some very kind words for the album in his review which can be read right here. David Comes To Life hits stores June 7th.
Rancid have announced their plans for the next few months. First the band will meet up for a run of shows with Blink 182, followed by four headlining shows on the west coast. The dates for their west coast shows have not been posted yet. In September the band will record their eighth album Brett Gurewitz of Epitaph Records and Bad Religion fame. Here’s the band’s statement.
We are really excited about doing a small run of shows later this
summer with our friends Blink 182, August 25 through Sept 4th, and
immediately after those shows Rancid will be headlining 4 shows on the
West Coast. Rancid has been taking an extended break for the last 18
months, and we thought that these shows would help us to get our chops
up before going into the studio with Brett Gurewitz to record our
eighth album in September. It’s always good for us to go out and play
some shows, just to get us ready before going into the studio, and
that helps bring that live energy to tape. We’ll keep everyone posted with any new developments. 2012 will be a
big year for us, because it’s our 20th Anniversary, so we’re
definitely going to do our own tour all over the world. As always, we appreciate your support.
See Ya In The Pit

Blink 182 have posted the tour dates for the upcoming Honda Civic tour featuring co-headliners My Chemical Romance. Support on the treck will be provided by Manchester Orchestra for the first half of the tour, Rancid and Against Me! for a brief run in Canada, and then Matt and Kim will take over for the rest of the dates. It all sounds much more confusing than it really is so just check out the complete list of dates below and clear things up. We’re here to help.
