Side One Dummy is having a massive eBay test pressing sale right now with all of the funds going to help Big D and the Kids Table vocalist Dave McWane pay his medical bills as he undergoes cancer treatment. Here is the statement from the label, and here are the auctions. Go spend some money for a good cause.

Ok, this is seriously and awesomely important.

Last week we did a little Autumn cleaning and went through a few boxes of test pressings. We decided that it’d be way better that fans have them than them sitting in boxes in our office. With that being said, the test pressings for the albums listed below are up for auction on our eBay.

There’s more though. ALL of the proceeds from the Big D and the Kids Table Fluent In Stroll auction are going to Dave McWane to help cover the cost of his medical bills associated with his fight against throat cancer. Also, a portion of the proceeds from all the other auctions will be going to Dave as well.

Rise And Fall’s Hellmouth LP Gets Reissued by Deathwish Inc.

File this under “Vinyl Nerds”. Deathwish Inc. had announced they were going to reissue Rise And Fall‘s Hellmouth LP. Well, the time is here and the place is now. Wait…it’s the other way around.

Two snazzy colors to choose from: Gold and Orange. Surely one more limited than the other.

Originally released by JTTP Records and Surprise Attack Records in 2004. This definitive Deathwish version is a new pressing and boasts a brand new mastering job, revamped artwork, and three bonus tracks never previously available on vinyl (including an Integrity cover).

It’s hard to believe that nearly a decade has passed since the world was introduced to Ghent Belgium’s “Punk Metal” innovators, Rise And Fall. In those years, they have risen to become one of the most respected and revered hardcore bands worldwide.

“Hellmouth” is Rise And Fall’s classic debut album, originally released in 2004. Listening back years later, it’s apparent that even in their primordial form, Rise And Fall had the musical venom to compete with the biggest beasts out there. Thunderous drumming, thick walls of guitars, ripping solos, and brutal vocals all coalesce to lay the blueprint for “Punk Metal” as we know it. Making “Hellmouth” an essential experience for any hardcore fan out there today.

TRACK LISTING:
01. When They Come Down
02. Bottom Feeder
03. Hellmouth
04. As The City Burns
05. Where Ghosts Roam
06. Collapse
07. Tongue Tied
08. Turn and Run

Burning Love Sign To Southern Lord; New Album Out In Early 2012

Toronto, Canada’s Burning Love have just inked a deal with Southern Lord Recordings. The band is currently holed up in God City Studio with Kurt Ballou finishing up their second full-length album, Rotten Thing To Say, expected to be out sometime in early 2012 around March or April. It goes without saying that this release is highly-anticipated as Burning Love has been a forced to be reckoned with in the hardcore punk scene. With roots in the legendary Cursed, Burning Love joining forces with Southern Lord is a match made in Heaven. Or would it be Hell? Either way, it’s great news and great things are expected. Full-on press release:

Southern Lord Recordings proudly announce the signing of Ontario-based BURNING LOVE, as the label prepared for the release of the unit’s anticipated upcoming sophomore full-length in early 2012.

Following their previous full-length, in addition to a multitude of EPs and split releases and more since their 2008 inception, the title of the forthcoming BURNING LOVE album has been confirmed as Rotten Thing To Say, and was recently recorded by Converge guitarist Kurt Ballou at his infamous Salem, Massachusetts-based Godcity Studio. Set to be mastered by Alan Douches at West West Side in the coming weeks as the album art is completed and final release details are confirmed, Rotten Thing To Say will see release in late March or early April of 2012, with final details to be confirmed by the beginning of the year.

To the uninitiated, BURNING LOVE is a group from Toronto with a chip on their shoulder and electric blood in their veins; their output a desperate, venomous and informed rock n’ roll fury that sways and swaggers somewhere between hardcore punk and the darker side of blues gone wrong. After the sudden demise of the now legendary Cursed, enigmatic frontman Chris Colohan picked right back up where he the band last left us, but this time collaborating with the members of Our Father, comes back to the table with a band that had a decidedly different musical approach and direction. While Cursed was intent on quickly ripping your face off, BURNING LOVE takes that similar approach to new levels, luring you in with infectious hooks and full throttle blues before going in for the kill. Merging the darkness of Poison Idea, the melodic aspects of Queens of the Stone Age and the inspired high energy of the MC5, the attack of BURNING LOVE begins to come into focus.

BURNING LOVE:
Chris Colohan – vocals
Alex Goodall – bass
Easton Lannaman – drums
Pat Marshall – guitar
Andrus Meret – guitar

Introducing: Holy Fever (Members of Suicide File, Ghost Up The Ghost, Hope Conspiracy, and more)

Holy Fever is a new band whose hardcore pedigree is a bit ridiculous…in a great way. Featuring members of bands such as Suicide File, Give Up The Ghost, Hope Conspiracy, and others, Holy Fever present a style of music that is far from hardcore but still retaining a heaviness and important urgency so critical for the genre. It would be easy to gush about this new group, but we can let the press release speak for itself and also the two songs in the band’s Facebook page.

HOLY FEVER, FEATURING MEMBERS OF SUICIDE FILE, GIVE UP THE GHOST (AMERICAN NIGHTMARE), HOPE CONSPIRACY AND MORE, ANNOUNCES SELF-TITLED EP AVAILABLE JANUARY 3RD FROM LIFELINE RECORDS

Longtime friends and members of some of the most beloved hardcore punk bands of the 2000’s, rock and roll up-and-comers HOLY FEVER are no strangers to the music world. The band features a bi-coastal lineup, including Suicide File frontman Dave Weinberg (lead vocals), Malbec’s Samantha Barbera (bass and vocals), Give Up The Ghost’s (American Nightmare) Brian Masek (guitar), Neeraj Kane (guitar) of Hope Conspiracy and Suicide File, and The Explosion’s Andrew Black (drums). HOLY FEVER are are excited to announce their new EP, available from LifeLine Records on January 3rd, and first shows as a band this coming weekend.

HOLY FEVER’s self-titled EP features three songs that hark back to the 60′s rock and roll movement, alongside sweeping harmonies and duetting female vocals that juxtapose the frontman’s gritty voice and politically infused lyrics. “Rat’s Feet Over Broken Glass”, the first track on the EP, gives you all the vitality you love about punk with an unapologetic pop sensibility. Check out the track streaming now at www.Facebook.com/HolyFever. “The Lincoln Brigade” and “All That’s Best of Dark and Bright” are also on the Holy Fever EP, and cement the band’s delivery of a sound that is pissed and unmistakably punk, while remaining catchy.

The Holy Fever EP will officially be available on January 3rd, but LifeLine Records will launch pre-orders on December 5th at www.LifeLineRecords.net. The first pressing will be 500 7inches, with 150 as solid orange vinyl and the remaining 350 as blue, black and white swirl vinyl. Each 7inch order will include a digital download as well.
