It seems that there is finally hope for the long-rumored and joked-about TV mini-series adaptation of Nine Inch Nails/Trent Reznor‘s Year Zero album. According to a short blurb by The Hollywood Reporter, Jim Uhls, who adapted the screen version of Chuck Palahniuk’s Fight Club, has been approached to adapt the story on which the NIN album is based on and follows. Released in 2007, Year Zero follows the story and criticism of a dystopian U.S. government in the year 2022. Trent Reznor has always been vocal about the influence of the album coming from George W. Bush’s presidency and the fallout during his years in office.
If and when it goes into production, which this fanboy right here hopes it does happen, it will be co-produced by HBO and the BBC. You bet we’ll keep you posted of any developments.
