We just got word of a new group: PALMS. Formed by Chino Moreno of Deftones and former members of ISIS, Jeff Caxide, Aaron Harris, and Clifford Meyer. No solid word on the group outside of the press release we got our hands on:
Meet Palms, a newly formed Los Angeles based quartet featuring three former members of ISIS (Aaron Harris, Clifford Meyer and Jeff Caxide) with Deftones‘ vocalist Chino Moreno.
“Clifford, Jeff and I started Palms a little over a year ago out of a desire to continue making music together after ISIS ended,” explained Harris. “Chino joined shortly after and our sound took shape from there. We’ve worked really hard on this first release and are excited for people to hear it. It’s nice to be back behind the drum kit, and with this line up.”
“Being a huge ISIS fan I’ve always dug the moods these dudes convey with their sound,” added Moreno. “I am excited to combine my sense of creativity with theirs, and to have fun doing so.”
Palms‘ debut album will be issued by ISIS‘ former label, Ipecac Recordings, and is slated for a 2012 release with a release date to be announced soon. The album was recorded and mixed by Harris, and produced by Palms.
Palms is Jeff Caxide (bass/keyboards), Aaron Harris (drums), Clifford Meyer (guitar/keyboards) and Chino Moreno (vocals).

Earlier this year Deftones released Diamond Eyes, which is easily the band’s best work since 2000s White Pony. Now, just in time for Halloween, the band have released their video for “You’ve Seen The Butcher” and boy is it is a gory mess.
Granted, it does feature tons of beautiful men and women in various states of undress dancing slowly and covered with sweat. Plus, cryptic images of the band playing in what can only be described as a haunted library. So, basically this video is three minutes and thirty seconds of everything that makes Halloween awesome.
Deftones will be heading over to the UK for a run of headline shows in November. Coheed And Cambria will be along as openers.

Sacramento rockers Deftones will be playing a not so secret secret show at La Boule Noire in Paris on Monday night. The show was announced two days ago via a status update via their Facebook page and every single one of the €27,50 tickets were quickly snatched up. The band has been announcing guerilla style shows via their Facebook page three days before they happen. If you live in Europe, keep an ear to the ground because your city could be next.
Diamond Eyes came out on Tuesday via Warner Brothers Records.
